ABOUT ME

My name is Amna Ahmad and I am an A2 Media Studies student at Roots International College. Media has become a significant aspect in my life and it influences my perception of movies, series and even content of everyday life. I am most interested in the fact that the same theories and techniques and the choice of colors can be put together in different ways to produce unusual effects, like combining notes to compose a melody. Another type of media structure that makes me feel the most inspired is music videos, as it combines music and visuals into one strong medium of narration. My particular interest lies in the field of music production, starting with the overlay of sounds to aligning the beat with the image because this procedure may entirely change the mood of a video. The understanding of how music and images are combined by directors and producers makes me become more creative and experiment with new ideas. Social networks such as YouTube, Tik Tok, and Instagram are also encouraging and teach me how music-driven content can unite and persuade people anywhere in the world. I hope I have as much fun creating my music video as much as I did in the previous year making my short film 

Zainab Shafqat, who is my filmmaking partner, has a firm creative relationship with me in media production. This year, we have decided to collaborate on a music video, a genre that both of us are equally obsessed with since we consider that music and imagery come together to form strong narratives. Similar to last year, when we worked together on our short film in the psychological thriller genre, our teamwork has been once again at the heart of the process of making our vision come true. As Zainab and I counterbalance each other in the exchanges of ideas, each detail is made perfect and every creative decision is followed up by the general concept. Her contribution, both in visual style to production planning, has been invaluable, and the experience of working with her has proven this process to be as exciting and, at the same time, rewarding as our project last year.
